The spectacular breakthrough of Dogecoin (DOGE) continues. The Gemini exchange just announced that altcoin is now available on the platform… And Tyler Winklevoss proclaims his love for what he considers to be “the people’s currency”.
The Gemini teams announced this addition yesterday. Dogecoin (DOGE) becomes the fortieth cryptocurrency offered on Gemini. Deposits are open now, and trades will be released “soon”.
For once, Tyler Winklevoss defended this choice in an ode to Dogecoin. He explains why he thinks altcoin is important:
“Dogecoin is the people’s currency. IT’s organic, sassy and fun. “
Gemini CEO explains that Dogecoin is a meme, but all currencies are the same. According to him, altcoin represents a fundamental change in the way people think about money:
“It goes against the idea that a currency has to be something that is issued by an authority – a vanity. They say there is some truth to all jokes. The value of Dogecoin is the punchline of this joke.”
