Tiger King Star Launches CAT Cryptocurrency

Author & Guarantor: Anton Yurchenko

Carole Baskin, who rose to prominence by appearing in Netflix’s Tiger King series, is also getting into cryptocurrency…

The Big Cat Rescue manager is one of a plethora of controversial characters who captured viewers’ attention when Tiger King aired on Netflix. And Carole Baskin seems to have found a new way to finance the operation of her sanctuary: cryptocurrency.

As announced yesterday, the cryptocurrency called CAT is available on Rally. The platform allows creators to launch their own tokens on Ethereum. According to a statement from Big Cat Rescue, the CAT is a “fan corner,” which allows investors to support the efforts of the sanctuary. It is specified that any donation over $500 will raise CAT for free.

A Certain Artistic Vagueness

CAT holders will be able to access exclusive services, such as private tours of the sanctuary, conversations with Carole Baskin, and access to preview merchandise. Big Cat Rescue also wants to launch non-fungible tokens (NFT), “in two weeks”.

However, it cannot be said that the press release shows great knowledge of the cryptocurrency and blockchain sector. Carole Baskin explains it as follows:

“I am concerned about the volume of dollars that is printed and distributed […]. At this point, USD and BitCoin [sic] are both fiat currencies, but BitCoin and other altcoins at least have the advantage of having scarcity, and their adoption is now wider. “

The statement also clarified that the CAT is “not a bargaining chip,” but a way for fans to show their love for the big cats. A priori, the Dogecoin (DOGE) should therefore not feel too threatened…
